CAROLYN NAIMAN JOINS CANADA'S #1 COMPETITION GROUP

TORONTO (March 5, 2007) – Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes), one of Canada’s leading business law firms, today announced that Carolyn N. Naiman has joined its Competition Group as a Partner

“Carolyn has great expertise and experience in the competition law area, particularly in M&A,” said Jim Christie, Chairman of Blakes. “She will be a great addition to our Competition Group, which is already recognized as the leading competition law practice in Canada.”

Ms. Naiman advises Canadian and international clients on the competition law aspects of merger transactions and on the competition law implications of various other business activities, including marketing and distribution arrangements, pricing practices and the interface between competition law and intellectual property law. In addition to her practice, Ms. Naiman is a regular speaker and author of articles on competition law and policy in Canada and abroad. She is also an adjunct professor at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where she co-teaches a course on competition law. She is also one of the few Canadians who is a member of the advisory board of the Bureau of National Affairs, Antitrust & Trade Regulation Report, Washington, D.C.

Founded in 1856, Blakes has more than 500 lawyers and offices in Canada, the United States, Europe and China. In October 2006, and for the fourth consecutive year, Blakes was the only law firm named one of “Canada’s Top 100 Employers” in Maclean’s newsmagazine.
