CIBC & Blakes Summer Internship for First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples

Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes) has a strong commitment to providing legal services in a workplace which is rich in perspectives, backgrounds and culture. The CIBC & Blakes First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples has been established to provide an opportunity for an undergraduate student from the Indigenous community who is considering law school to gain work experience in a law firm environment and in a bank/corporate environment, to observe lawyers in the different workplaces and to perform a variety of tasks.

The student will work 4 weeks in the Blakes Toronto office, with a focus on projects that provide exposure to the practice and business of law. The student will also work for 4 weeks in the CIBC Legal Department in Toronto. The student will be mentored by members of both Blakes and CIBC.

Who can Apply?

This Program is open exclusively to undergraduate students who self-identify as Indigenous peoples.

Structure of the Program 

The Program will run for 8 weeks starting in June 2024 and is a paid internship.

Process

Only successful candidates who have been selected for an interview will be contacted.  The interview may take place by video-conference or by telephone.
